I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
My wife and I hosted some family and enjoyed some extended time off. We bought some stuff, donated some stuff, and I cleaned out our tool shed.
I also unsubscribed from a lot of emails.
Black Friday this…Cyber Monday that…’tis the season to unsubscribe.
There was a point in time receiving an email from these people/businesses were valuable.
It's often a way of remembering a tool/service/community exists.
But like the tool shed or items we donated…it was time to clean house a bit.
Which leads me to this thought…
In a world filled with billions of people, places, and things, we seldom need more than a handful.
Who needs thousands of followers when you have a few great friends?
Who needs a bigger house when you have a wonderful home?
Who needs the deal when it's just another thing to deal with?
“Better in theory than in practice” comes to mind.
I don't think there is anything wrong about wanting more.
I also don't begrudge folks who market or sell, as I have made a career of both.
But as for me and my personal inbox…I unsubscribed from those things that no longer serve me.
Moreover, it's about dialing in my focus on what equips me to serve others more profoundly.
It's sort of like turning off the music when driving so you can see the road ahead.
The less of the world I let in my consciousness, the more authentic I can be in my own creative expression.
Instead of worrying about what I don't have…what if I trusted in what God could do with what he's given to me? (Matthew 14:13-21)
So, with that being said…thank you for subscribing to this newsletter. 😏
It truly means a lot that you care about what I think and decide to share.
My hope is that what I have to say is not only valuable but encourages, enriches, and empowers you to be and become a person of value.
That's what I'm actively trying to do in my own life, which sometimes results in a newsletter.
Now what?
Either unsubscribe, which I'll receive as your way of telling me you're reducing inputs to increase your focus toward living on purpose or…
Stay subscribed and tell me something…literally anything! 📣
I'd love to incorporate your feedback in future posts. Simply respond to this email or leave a comment on the post. ♥️

Well said! Most of our society is definitely focused on the wrong things these days. We need to rewire our thinking so that more of our "distractions" lead us towards the vision we've set for ourselves.
