I was listening to the Modern Wisdom podcast with Chris Williams and Alex Hormozi and at one point they discussed 3 traits of hyper successful people.
Chris referenced a study that the three traits that were found to be common amongst hyper successful people (like Alex) are:
Superiority complex - they believed they were better/capable of achieving more than others
Inferiority complex - they felt they did not measure up and always had something to prove
Impulse control - they knew how to delay gratification and not make impulsive decisions
I don't consider myself “hyper successful” but do find myself relating to these 3 traits in a certain sense and working on cultivating them in my life en route to that end goal.
Everyone's definition of success is different, but these three traits are important.
To help myself remember them I decided to make it Power Acronym 76: B.E.T.
I thought B.E.T. worked, because high performers are willing to bet on themselves.
Power Acronym 80: B.E.T.
“Superiority complex” becomes BELIEF.
Make it big and bold.
Inferiority becomes ENOUGH.
Am I enough? Have I done enough?
I wrestle with these questions regularly.
It's helpful knowing that it's a human thing to do.
Impulse control becomes TEMPERANCE.
A cardinal virtue of stoicism, the proper balance of excess and deficiency.
What do you think?
B.E.T. on Success.
