The next time you don’t “feel like it”, think about this Power Acronym.
Power Acronym 51: P.D.P.
This is a powerful distinction I learned from Brian Johnson in the Heroic Coaching program.
We tend to think that psychological condition drives our physical body to do one thing or another. It’s the opposite.
Because our physical bodies are the main driver of our psychological health and stability.
If you haven’t worked out in a while, you will face some pretty big resistance to getting started. It will be more physically difficult to get your body to move because it hasn’t moved in that way in some time.
But shortly after you start, your mind will start to realize it’s a new day.
Your heart will beat, your blood will flow, and your brain will produce endorphins which will change your psychology.
It may be difficult at first, but that’s because our human brains have evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to perfect one thing: Our ability to survive.
If our brain can conserve energy, avoid comfort, and get easy calories, it’ll do it.
But it’s not always the best for us if we want to be strong and healthy.
Embrace the mind-body connection and use it to your advantage.
Use your physical body to bring your mind into the state you need it to be.
Let your physiology drive your psychology!
