Not too long ago I felt angry so I decided to write a Power Acronym to help process it.
Hope it brings you some value.

Awareness
The first step to controlling emotions and using them for positive outcomes is to simply be aware of them.
I'm not perfect. But I work on being mindful with my words and actions when tensions rise.
Name it to tame it
Did you know simply labeling, or naming, your emotions is scientifically proven to assist you when experiencing, fear, anxiousness, depression, or other negative emotions?
Dr. Daniel Siegel made his research easy to remember by sharing it with the phrase Name it to Tame it.
Growth language
As I recall times in my life where I was feeling intense emotion and voiced that emotion, I felt like I experience growth.
It wasn't fun or cool looking. It sucked and I would have rather been doing something else.
It's a pretty vulnerable place to be.
It's also transformational.
It's not like my whole life changed during that moment, but something did.
I was able to speak truthfully and able to share thoughts I didn't realize I had until they started falling out of my mouth.
I call that growth language.
Express creativity
Self expression is important to me.
The amount of writing, speaking, and content creation I do may clue you in on that.
Transmuting emotions into music, movement, writing, crafts, or cooking are just a few healthy ways to be with emotions in creative ways.
The more distance I can get from the root of the emotion and into something else, the better.
But it's important that whatever that energy goes to serves. Masking, ignoring, or covering emotions for a long period of time can wreck a life.
Create something good for you.
Repeat
The thing about emotions as that they will always be there, so we might as well get to mastering our relationship with them.
When we do, we can use our experiences to being emotionally strong for others in times of need.
That's the heroic thing to do.
