Integrity is a core value of mine and one that many companies hold as foundational to the way they do business.
Here are some words that have served as synonyms over time:
innocence, blamelessness; chastity, soundness, wholeness, completeness, correctness, blamelessness, whole
Integrity is about the relationship we have with our word. Past life lessons like Use Your Words touched on this.
But Doing What We You Say You Will Do is just one aspect of integrity. It also has to do with wholeness, from integrity's relationship with the word integer.
A lesson learned is not a lesson mastered so I'm still working on what it means to be integrated in different aspects of life.
What does it look like to have integrity physically, vocationally, spiritually…simultaneously?
How can my health goals help me hit my work goals? What does dialing in my duties as a husband have to do with the other commitments I've made?
If I hope to exemplify a life of integrity, every aspect of life is important to each other.
In 2023 I'm hoping to get closer to experiencing a flywheel effect; compounding small wins over time that personal, professional, and financial growth almost seems to happen by itself.
It will take an honest look in the mirror and telling the truth about what's happening, what's, working and what needs work.
It will take a plan and a strategy.
But that's the difference between a life lived by design and a life lived in default.
"Integrity is the integration of ideals, convictions, standards, beliefs-and behavior. When our behavior is congruent with our professed values, when ideals and practice match up, we have integrity.
